Methodology & Configuration
Scoring Process
  1. Collect Test Data: Gather results from professional tyre tests across multiple publications. Minimum 1 test(s) required.
  2. Normalize Positions: Convert test positions to percentile scores using exponential weighting (factor: 1.2).
  3. Apply Recency Weighting: More recent tests are weighted higher with a decay rate of 0.95.
  4. Incorporate User Reviews: Factor in user review data (minimum 5 reviews). Weight: 15%.
  5. Bayesian Smoothing: Apply Bayesian prior (score: 7, weight: 1.5) to prevent extreme scores with limited data.
  6. Calculate Final Score: Combine all components using normalization factor of 1.1. Max score with limited data: 9.5.

The Bridgestone Turanza QuietTrack is a comfortable daily driver with smooth, responsive steering. However, on the track, it shows its limits with a general lack of grip in wet and dry conditions, being particularly unsettled when combining braking and steering. It's a dependable, average performer in the snow, but struggles on ice.

Bridgestone Turanza QUIETTRACK Are these recommended for a Vw transporter/converted campervan?

As long as you can find them in the correct load rating there's no reason they wouldn't work. Load rating is key for those sort of applications.

I am on my 2nd set. The first set only lasted 45000 miles. They are quiet and ride well.

Terrible tires. I purchased brand new from Costco and maintained properly with tire rotations at 5k along with inflating to manufacturer recommendations. The tires are 80k warranty and they did not last 30k… I do not recommend them.

Given 53% while driving a Subaru Outback (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 80,000 average miles
Bought at Costco due to the rebate and 80,000 mile warranty. I did rotations every 5-7k and these only lasted 33,000 miles before they were all down to the wear bars with even wear. They were on a 2008 Subaru Outback. Would not recommend.

Given 43% while driving a Toyota Camry XSE AWD (235/40 R19) on mostly motorways for 47,000 average miles
Tires were very quiet when new but have gotten noisy as the are now wearing thin at 47,000 miles. New from the factory they had decent traction and handling in summer months. During the Minnesota winter they struggle immensely. Almost all traction is lost in snow. I should have replaced these tires with ones better suited to snow before they caused me to need a tow.

Given 94% while driving a Lexus GS350 AWD (245/40 R19) on mostly town for 1,000 average miles
Recently bought the Bridgestone Turanza QT from Costco. Due to some mixed reviews and since I never had Bridgestone's in the past, I was little concerned. But as soon as I drove on them, I was convinced! Granted, I was replacing a 8 year old Michelin Primacy MXM4 that was OEM even with plenty of tread left, but I could immediately feel the difference. It rides smoother, quieter, with so much more feel and control. MXM4 was a decent tire, but just horrible on the snow. It didn't matter much when I was living in Houston, but now that I'm in Vancouver, the added traction on the Turanza should come in very handy in the winter time. I absolutely love the Turanza QT. I also upsized the width from 235 to 245 for added traction in the dry. The new tire looks great and performs well, plus got it on sale with $150 discount, so very happy with the purchase. Wish I would have gotten them sooner...

Great Tires. Safe, Quiet, Secure and Good Handling on all types of road conditions. Driven over 50K miles on these tires in a 2019 Sonata. Replaced OEM with these tires when car was new. Very Pleased with them. Would buy again.
