Methodology & Configuration
Scoring Process
  1. Collect Test Data: Gather results from professional tyre tests across multiple publications. Minimum 1 test(s) required.
  2. Normalize Positions: Convert test positions to percentile scores using exponential weighting (factor: 1.2).
  3. Apply Recency Weighting: More recent tests are weighted higher with a decay rate of 0.95.
  4. Incorporate User Reviews: Factor in user review data (minimum 5 reviews). Weight: 15%.
  5. Bayesian Smoothing: Apply Bayesian prior (score: 7, weight: 1.5) to prevent extreme scores with limited data.
  6. Calculate Final Score: Combine all components using normalization factor of 1.1. Max score with limited data: 9.5.

Given 40% while driving a Kawasaki 650 Versys (225/45 R17 H) on mostly country roads for 3,400 average miles
Had to purchase this tyre after a puncture, in the dry was ok, rain made it an interesting ride.

Completed 3400 miles on it before it completely squared off.

I would avoid it if you can, it is the Marks & Spencer's of bike tyres.

Given 63% while driving a Yamaha R1 (180/55 R17 W) on mostly country roads for 1,900 spirited miles
How long your tires last really depends on how hard you ride. I ride the streets like a track and I have 4k on my bike the front Dunlop lasted 4k I had to replace the rear at 1900 miles. Went with the Dunlop Q3 after and got 2100 out of it. Great grip and feel on the sportmax's. The Q3 had similar grip but because of the dual compound the top loses grip severely as tire wears. Both take long time to heat up but Q3 tire starts spinning all the time on straight when it reaches last 35% of life. Need some tires that will give constant grip for very aggressive riding and last more than 2k

Given 79% while driving a Yamaha R1 (180/55 R17) on a combination of roads for 0 spirited miles
This tyre was fitted to my R1 when I brought it so it was already worn in when I had it with a few thousand mile left on it. I'm over the moon with the grip and feedback from it and would recommend it to anybody. I'm just looking to buy the same again but the 190 version to see if that's as good.

Given 17% while driving a BMW Ducati 750SS IE, Aprilia RS125 (225/45 R17) on mostly country roads for 3,000 spirited miles
Had the earlier versions of these fitted on two bikes, both fitted by previous owners, utterly dreadful ditch finders, when you manage to light up the rear tyre on an RS125 in second gear IN THE DRY! You know you have a bad tyre.

My experience of Dunlops is similar to that of Firestones, in that they are the most dangerous tyres I have ever had the displeasure to own, on my Ducati I got to a point where I wouldn't ride the bike is it just felt unsafe and took all my confidence, on my BMW E39 528i the rear tyres were Dunlops the first time I drove it spiritedly I lost the back end with a spectacular slide and drift.

I have yet to have one good experience on the Dunlops, I doubt I will as I refuse to fit them to my car, I would rather put Linglongs or Wanlis on, at least I know I would paying the correct amount of money for a truly crap tyre

Given 69% while driving a Honda CBR600F Y 2000 (/70 R17 W) on mostly country roads for 4,000 spirited miles
Very hard tyre, was fitted by the previous owner and still has MASSIVE amounts of tread left.

Doesn't warm up very quickly, and doesn't warm up alot at that. Not very confidence inspiring, doesn't give alot of feedback on what's going on.

Will be changing it for sure when it get's near thee limit, or maybe as a set when i next change the rear.
