Well, in all winter a didn't to put chains a i drove in really bad snowfalls. Of course the grip in a heavy snowfall is not perfect but always had enough grip to not even once put the chains.
In dry but very cold weather conditions very good grip and in the wet also very good. When you abuse then then tend to overheat a lose some grip but lets be fair, they are winter tyres, not summer tyres. In strong braking the abs tends to be a early guest even in dry/very cold weather but that can also be explained by the excessive use of salt road in the pavement.
I drove almost 20000km last winter and they are still in good shape for at least 2 more winter seasons. Very good value for your money!

These are my first winter tyres, and I have chosen them because their popular price and good test results which I have seen on internet. Quality for that price is really good (270,oo €) for 4 tyres is really good price. A lot of manufacturers in BARUM's range is expensive for 80-120 € for complet, but test results are similar.
I have tested them in croatian winter and snow, and I think they are OK, I didn't have problems with braking, and driving, only problem is they are a littlebit noisy when the road is wet, I feel like I'm on train tracks. Anyway I thougth to buy a "SAVA" Eskimo S3, (which is very popular economy tyre brand in Craotia), but I think this is much better choice. "BARUM" is Continental's brand, and a look of tyre is very similar with "Conti"'s winter tyre models.

Not so good grip on snow, as one would expect from a winter tyre. However on dry either wet road they have surprinsingly strong grip.
