Methodology & Configuration
Scoring Process
  1. Collect Test Data: Gather results from professional tyre tests across multiple publications. Minimum 1 test(s) required.
  2. Normalize Positions: Convert test positions to percentile scores using exponential weighting (factor: 1.2).
  3. Apply Recency Weighting: More recent tests are weighted higher with a decay rate of 0.95.
  4. Incorporate User Reviews: Factor in user review data (minimum 5 reviews). Weight: 15%.
  5. Bayesian Smoothing: Apply Bayesian prior (score: 7, weight: 1.5) to prevent extreme scores with limited data.
  6. Calculate Final Score: Combine all components using normalization factor of 1.1. Max score with limited data: 9.5.

Given 54% while driving a Ford (225/45 R17) on mostly motorways for 20,000 average miles
Fitted to the front of a 1.8 mk1 focus. Fine in the dry unless pushed hard but shocking in the wet. Car slides around roundabouts and wheelspins from traffic lights if it has been raining. Sliding in the dry takes a bit of effort but they tend to let go without warning and non abs practice emergency stops end up quite smoky.

I'm not after premium hoops, but these are worse than many budgets in the wet. On a positive note they last ages, 20k and 3-4 mm left.

Given 24% while driving a Volkswagen Passat (235/45 R18) on mostly town for 400 spirited miles
VW R36 came with these tyres fitted and replaced them after the first rain! Being used to Pirelli P-Zero Rosso I cannot even say they are any good in the dry! Even if you don't have the money to buy super fancy tyres, stay away from those ones... for your own safety, families safety and other road commuters.

Rather buy a set of Nexen's, but not those!

STAY away!

Given 87% while driving a Vauxhall Vectra SRI 1.9 (150) (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 0 easy going miles
These tyres are great and I would even compare them to conti sport contacts 25000 miles and still 3-4 mm left. But when I got down to this level, in the wet, they aren't good at all. Changed them today. But overall not a bad tyre.

Given 86% while driving a Holden commodore (245/35 R19) on mostly country roads for 32,000 spirited miles
Have had them on my Holden Commodore 98 model wagon for two yrs. Great wear for the price in Australia. Mind you with 19 inch clubman senators the difference is too obvious. Club sport font end for a v8 and only carry a 6 you can push these tyres well. live in Cairns so with the wet season here I don't understand how people can give it a bad rating on weather performance. They must be driving a lighter weight car. About 1.5 yrs wear per set.

Given 44% while driving a Mazda 6 (225/45 R17) on mostly town for 15,000 average miles
As the other reviewers have said - these are genuinely dangerous in the wet. Since having these tyres on the back of my FWD saloon it has always drifted out from the back end on the same roundabout when wet. I thought it was the tarmac on that particular roundabout but no. This week it did it on another roundabout when the ground was only damp, and earlier tonight on a left hand bend with my 18 month old baby in the car. I'll be changing them tomorrow.

The only positive is that for a budget tyre they have worn reasonably well.

Check out how the BEST all seasons tyres perform against premium summer and winter tyres!
Given 50% while driving a Ford Mondeo (235/40 R18 W) on a combination of roads for 1,000 average miles
Agree almost entirely with first review. The dry grip is great but these may as well be slick tyres - their wet performance is very poor. I only dispute the word borderline (dangerous)!

Great buy for a value, dry weather only day-trip (sports) car. If it rains, stop the car and catch the bus or comeback and collect car from the hedge it was burried in!

Given 45% while driving a Ford Fiesta ST (205/40 R17) on mostly country roads for 2,000 spirited miles
Supprisingly good in the dry, but borderline dangerous in the wet. Can't comment on wear, they came on a second hand and got shot of them after two months.
