BMW 320d touring Tyre Review Highlights
Writing about the Nexen N Blue 4Season 2 given 75% (225-45-18)
I fitted these on my 320d (F31) in december last year, they performed surprisingly well in the harsh winterconditions we had. The tires also performed well on dry roads and higer Autobahn speeds (160-200kmh). The road feedback is good for a allseason tire, im am happier than with the Vredestein quadtrac pro plus which seemed squisher. I am interested on how they will perform on warmer days in the summer. No signs of wear could be noticed at this point.

Driving on a combination of roads for 2000 spirited miles
Best deal ever!
Tyres are premium feel, Class A wet grip, drive like a german tyre on a BMW Touring 320D. Made in Korea.
The only other Class A wet grip tyre is Bridgestone, with $55 more per tyre.

Kumho is the top-brand of the corporation, the budget version is Marshall.

Driving on a combination of roads for 25000 spirited miles
Finally replaced the rears I fitted in 2019 and reviewed on this site (30/07/2019). After at least 25,000 miles, I got a puncture and changed both as they were getting low on tread. Absolutely fantastic tyres that have surprised me. Took us on a European road trip in August this year (3500 miles) and even at this late stage of their lifespan, were absolutely superb through some seriously heavy rains in Italy and France. Brilliant in all weathers and with some heavy loads, the Roadhawks are up there with the original Bridgestone Turanza ER300 from a few years ago on my all time favourites. Shout out to Firestone for putting together a brilliant tyre that for the price have put it to the big brands every time. I'm a spirited driver and always had total confidence in the Roadhawks to get me there.

Writing about the Bridgestone Blizzak LM001 EVO given 74% (225-50-17)
Driving on a combination of roads for 10000 average miles
This is end of life review on a 7 year old LM001 EVO. It's a standout tire in wet braking but loses out on wet handling and aquaplaning resistance. Snow performance is below average and I would not recommend using this tire in regions covered with snow. Comfort levels are OK but as the tire ages tire noise is more audible inside the cabin. Using this tire in dry conditions (less colder) wears out more quickly. In simple words, this tire is not my favorite

Writing about the Hankook Kinergy 4S2 given 72% (225-50-17)
Driving on mostly motorways for 23000 average miles
I have crossed over 35k kms and very much mixed driving style (mostly in country roads and motorways). Good pick for all season tyre and also value for money. After 20k kms, this tire resembles more like a summer tire and has less confident in wet braking (cold conditions). Handling is moderate and not a standout among competitors ! Be prepared for sudden braking as this might steer your car either to the left or right. I would recommend this tire only if are not an enthusiastic driver and one who looks for comfort and better value. Worn out tires have over 50% drop in fuel efficiency and Performance.

Writing about the Pirelli CINTURATO P7 given 80% (225-45-18)
Driving on a combination of roads for 5000 spirited miles
I have been driving this Pirelli cinturato P7 for almost 6 months in this summer (nearly 8k kms), first impressions are higher comfort levels and less noise in long motorway cruising. I appreciate the dry grip (both hot and cold weather) and predictable handling and of course fun to drive around the corners while edging the grass next to the asphalt. Only downside is the wet grip especially in cold weather and rainy conditions. EU label has a "B" rating for braking on wet roads but braking is absolutely good and confident both in dry and wet. Tire wear is reasonable if you are driving only in the motorway but unfortunately uneven wear might be possible when tires are more pushed in the corners which I think is due to the RunFlat technology

Writing about the Dunlop Winter Sport 5 given 90% (205-55-16)
Driving on mostly town for 25000 average miles
I purchased my set of Dunlop WinterSport 5 tires back in 2016, and after 9 years of use and approximately 40,000 kilometers, I can confidently say I was thoroughly satisfied with their performance.

Even after all these years, tread wear was minimal, which speaks volumes about the durability of the compound. The tires only started to show signs of aging recently, with visible cracking due to age, which is to be expected after nearly a decade.

In winter conditions, especially around 0°C and below, the grip was exceptional. The tire offered great braking performance, predictable handling, and a very reliable, confidence-inspiring feel. Whether it was wet slush or compact snow, the tire performed consistently well.

In warmer temperatures, the tire did begin to lose grip more easily, especially during sudden cornering, with a noticeable tendency for understeer. However, the handling always remained controllable, and I never felt unsafe or out of control.

Overall, I would absolutely recommend the Dunlop WinterSport 5 to anyone looking for a trustworthy winter tire. It delivered great value, excellent winter safety, and durability well beyond expectations. I would buy it again without hesitation.

Driving on a combination of roads for 20000 spirited miles
I have bought my car in 2023 with these tires, DOT 21 I believe. I have drove more than 30k kilometers on them, the wear is excellent - still 4-5mm of tread left.

The grip and handling on dry roads is all-right for an all season tire, also on snow/ice it is sufficient for an experienced driver. But the wet grip is really bad... especially with temperatures below 6 degrees. I often had wheelspin in 3rd gear, in a 170hp RWD car. This would be normal if the car would have twice the power. Also a lot of understeering. You have to be very conservative with driving on the wet with these tires.

Writing about the Michelin Pilot Sport 5 given 84% (235-40-18-)
Driving on a combination of roads for 10000 spirited miles
I've been using those tires on my BMW 320d Touring for a year now. Road noise is slightly louder than with the old tires, however those haven't been UHP tires. Overall I am very satisfied. They have a lot of grip both in dry and wet conditions. Autobahn rides with 200km/h+ feel safe and stable. Hunting corners on country roads is a lot of fun too. I don't drive on race tracks though and I am lacking the expertise to evaluate the performance at the absolute limit.
I think the Pilot Sport 5 are excellent for spirited everyday driving.

Driving on a combination of roads for 12000 average miles
An excellent winter tyre, i had runflats on a BMW at the time, and these went up steep moutain roads that had no visible asphalt because they were covered in hard packed snow, no stones or salt down, in a storm at -19 degrees outside. Car felt grippy and did hairpin bends without needing to slow much from a sensible speed up snow covered roads which probably makes all the difference in being able to continue on up to destination.

Writing about the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 given 0% (225-45-18-)
Driving on a combination of roads for 14000 average miles
I have been using Goodyear Asymmetric in my all cars. Starting from A3 and A6 lately. My front A5 which I bought 4 years ago still has half of its life left when A6 fitted on the rear lasted only 14000 miles!
