Scoring Process
  1. Collect Test Data: Gather results from professional tyre tests across multiple publications. Minimum 1 test(s) required.
  2. Normalize Positions: Convert test positions to percentile scores using exponential weighting (factor: 1.2).
  3. Apply Recency Weighting: More recent tests are weighted higher with a decay rate of 0.95.
  4. Incorporate User Reviews: Factor in user review data (minimum 5 reviews). Weight: 15%.
  5. Bayesian Smoothing: Apply Bayesian prior (score: 7, weight: 1.5) to prevent extreme scores with limited data.
  6. Calculate Final Score: Combine all components using normalization factor of 1.1. Max score with limited data: 9.5.

Good predicted mileage, low abrasion, low fuel consumption.
Weaknesses in driving comfort and behavior at the limit on dry roads, weaknesses on wet roads, weaknesses on winter roads.
The Nokian Tyres WR Snowproof offers only satisfactory steering feedback and precision on dry roads, requiring occasional corrections due to its elastic response. It tends to oversteer during dynamic evasive maneuvers or lane changes, and its limit behavior is also rated as just satisfactory. However, its braking distance is slightly above average, earning it a good rating. On wet roads, the tyre's performance is unconvincing, resulting in an overall satisfactory rating. Whether in braking tests or aquaplaning behavior, its performance is below average. The tyre tends to understeer or oversteer early in corners, showing imprecision and limited reserves. Overall, its handling receives an insufficient rating. On winter roads, it also earns a satisfactory rating, although it secures a good note for snow braking. Its snow traction, ice braking, and snow handling are all rated as satisfactory. The vehicle's handling is not very precise, and it tends to understeer or oversteer early, offering limited reserves. Regarding environmental impact, the tyre receives a good rating for its predicted mileage and wear. Its efficiency is also rated as good, mainly due to low fuel consumption, although its weight receives a satisfactory rating.
Low fuel consumption and wear, good on snow and ice.
Weaknesses on dry and wet roads (devaluation.)
The Nokian Tires WR Snowproof shows weaknesses both in the dry and in the wet, in both criteria it is rated as satisfactory. Despite the still good snow and ice properties, it received the rating "recommended", since the satisfactory performance in the wet led to a devaluation of the overall grade.

Top 3 Nokian WR Snowproof Reviews

Given 89% while driving a (225/50 R18) on a combination of roads for 0 average miles
Smooth running characteristics and, compared to the Apollo, similar mileage – 30,000 km on the driven front axle until the 3 mm tread depth was reached – is an astonishing figure.

Given 59% while driving a BMW 320i (205/60 R15 H) on a combination of roads for 2,000 average miles
On snow these Tyres are terrible. All over the Internet i just hear ooo Nokian is producing great tyres, they know what they doing and so on. Ok bought the tyres because my old ones from Goodyear UG9 were old, loud and thread was gone too. I have BMW E46 and driving it very long time, over 100k km drove with it and you can say I have experince. Same snowy roads, same car and I can say there Tyres are rubbish. The Car ist maybe 50% stable from how it was before. In the corners it easily slips, wheather you drive 2km/h or 15km/h. At acceleration the back of the car ist "dancing" all the time. Stopping at snow is the same with the UG9. This was a big mistake to buy these Tyres, going back next time again to Goodyear!

Given 93% while driving a Toyota Verso 1.8 t2 (205/60 R16) on mostly town for 3,000 easy going miles
The tires passed the first winter with heavy snowfall on the streets, frosts down to -25C and ice on black asphalt. I am very pleased with this tire. It is a winter tire for everyday use. Fuel consumption was lower by almost a liter per 100km compared to previous tires of a similar class. The low noise level draws attention. The tire is well thought out so that it has very good results on any surface.

Initial Impressions Review
Given 74% while driving a MINI Cooper S (195/55 R16) on for 2,000 miles
It constantly underperforms on warmer wet, acceleration usually comes with slipping and braking more aggressively also engages ABS too often on wet days. On snow it performed fairly well. Confidently cornering and braking.
It can surprise on icy roads where it looses traction with ease. Overall not bad budget friendly winter tires, but for peace of mind would go with higher rated models.
