Methodology & Configuration
Scoring Process
  1. Collect Test Data: Gather results from professional tyre tests across multiple publications. Minimum 1 test(s) required.
  2. Normalize Positions: Convert test positions to percentile scores using exponential weighting (factor: 1.2).
  3. Apply Recency Weighting: More recent tests are weighted higher with a decay rate of 0.95.
  4. Incorporate User Reviews: Factor in user review data (minimum 5 reviews). Weight: 15%.
  5. Bayesian Smoothing: Apply Bayesian prior (score: 7, weight: 1.5) to prevent extreme scores with limited data.
  6. Calculate Final Score: Combine all components using normalization factor of 1.1. Max score with limited data: 9.5.

Given 50% while driving a BMW 320i (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 20,000 spirited miles
Only for drift in the wet tarmac. Good at dry but poor in wet.

Given 57% while driving a MG MGTF (215/40 R16) on mostly town for 500 average miles
Not too bad at all - had these on the front and they spent about a month there while waiting for my new tyres.

Responsive and crisp with a good wear rate - not suitable for wet use on anything other than a 4 door saloon though as grip was not good at all.

Previous comment about proper suspension setup is probably about right. The TF rivals and probably just beats the MX5 on handling (I drive both regular) and they both make good use of the performance of a tyre rather than just being steering tools.

Given 86% while driving a Mazda MX5 (205/45 R16 W) on a combination of roads for 0 spirited miles
Just read the previous reviews-bah!
These tyres are for cars with proper handling Suspension. My car has been set up correctly (with me sitting in it at the time), and these tyres have kept me on the road where others would have failed. Dry grip is excellent, cars steps out when asked with no nasty surprises. Take it easy in the wet tho, but you should always take it easy on wet roads!! better when all four wheels are fitted with these boots. Problem today is, every body thinks they know how to drive and then blame the tyres when thier 'knowledge' is put to the test. Don't blame the tyres-blame the nut behind the wheel!

Given 70% while driving a Honda Accord (225/35 R18) on mostly town for 15,500 average miles
Had these tyres fitted to my car for about 25000km (15500 miles) on Australian roads found to be very responsive in dry conditions, wet was not as impressive but safe (with sensible driving). Suited well to my suspension set-up. road noise was definitely apparent but is expected with many low profile tyres on the market and was not overwhelming in a modified vehicle. Managed to get considerably large mileage considering giving them a fairly hard time towards the end of their life (although was babied at new). These are good tyres which I can recommend to a daily driver and should not be criticised due to lack of knowledge or experience. Would certainly buy again.
cheers, Leo

Poor in the dry, and very bad in wet conditions, also wore out in 7000 miles.. Very poor

Given 31% while driving a Mercedes Benz c230k (225/45 R17 V) on a combination of roads for 10,000 average miles
Have these on my car..
A pretty cheap tyre and OK for the money but nothing to shout about. Ride noise is loud and doesn't suit my Mercedes so I will be changing to a more up market tyre next time around.
Grip is decent in the dry but hit and miss in damp conditions.

Given 47% while driving a Volkswagen Transporter (225/45 R18 W) on a combination of roads for 8,000 average miles
Not a bad loking tyre, rim bead was a little small considering this was a selling point! The biggest criticism is wear.....gone through a set on my light van in less that 9k, very disappointing! Quite positive in the dry but when its wet....better stay at home! Won't be bothering again!

Given 44% while driving a Toyota MK2 MR2 Turbo (235/40 R17 W) on track for 2,000 spirited miles
Very poor wet grip and just average in the dry, look the part but not especially cheap. Struggled big time with these on a wet day at Donington, spent more time sideways than in a straight line, not even that great for drifting as not especially progressive. Not recommended unless all your doing is motorway miles as they do seem hard wearing.

Given 40% while driving a Toyota MK2 MR2 NA (225/45 R16 W) on mostly country roads for 10,000 average miles
Probably the worst "performance" tyre i've ever used, wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
