255/50 R19 Tyre Review Highlights
Writing about the Hankook Ventus S1 evo 3 ev
rated 75%
6500 miles in, driving a mix of A and B roads mostly very wet with a lot of standing water and sometimes mud. Tyres grip well in all the conditions I have experienced so far. The economy so far is good 3.9mkwh in the cold and I think the they are a good choice of tyre for EVs at a good price, I would replace them with the same when the time comes.

We have now been driving the tyres in the winter period.
We are very impressed. Specially when driving in snow. No difference from winter tyres.

I bought the tires before going to the mountains with not much expectation. But there was a lot of snow on the mountain that the snowplow couldn't clear as much as it was falling. The car went through the snowdrifts without even turning on the traction control. After a few days, the sensor froze, which turned off my front floor, but I also went down through the snowdrifts to the first car wash without any problems.

Writing about the Continental CrossContact LX25
rated 93%
I have the CrossContact LX25s on my 2019 Mercedes GLE400 4Matic (previous generation, same look as ML) and they replaced the factory Pirelli Scorpion runflats. Immediately, I was able to notice that the Contis ride much softer and quieter at the same tire pressures. While the Pirellis felt as if I were riding on 30 ratio sidewalls, the CrossContact LX25 made my Benz feel like a luxury car. I drive very gently with no hard acceleration, braking, or turning, so I cannot comment on the limit handling of the tires but I have never felt at risk when driving in the dry or wet, including standing water. Snow performance has not been tested as I have a set of Hakka R3s which are fantastic. I would strongly recommend the LX25s for anyone needing new tires on their SUV.

Writing about the Pirelli Scorpion

Fitted on a VW ID4, with an almost 50/50 mix of 100-120kph motorway, and 80-100kph country roads of varying surface quality, the Pirelli Scorpion has lasted around 40,000 kms before being close to needing replacement.
My driving style is generally comfort oriented, with minimal harsh acceleration or braking, but when occasionally pushed the grip in both dry and wet is confident. Hard stops for deer in the road are quite frequent, and without drama from grip perspective.
Being mindful of quite high drive (rear) wheel torque, I’m gentle enough on take-off, and as a result fronts and rears have worn quite evenly, although at around 40k kms is fast enough wear to consider trying another brand, to see if an alternative has equal performance whilst offering longer life.

Early days with these tyres 2700miles, (Skoda Elroq 85) but I'm finding that they are performing well. economy is v good ( a mix of A and B roads mostly) and they are proving grippy in both in the wet and dry, happy so far :)

Such a nice tyre. I had them on my Volvo XC 90 with polestar upgrade. I didnt take corners as maniac but i could feel that they have great grip on dry and wet. Aquaplaning was never issue with them. I never had any kind of slippage dry or wet no meter if i braked with great force. Would definitively buy them again even taking in account it is an old tyre now.

I have a Mercedes Benz GLE 450 with Michelin Latitude Sport 3 tires. These are factory set. After approx. 16,500 km, they started to be extremely noisy...the noise is annoying while driving!!! I now have 43,000 km on them and will be changing them early.

Initial 1,000 miles on 2021 Porsche Macan base. Tires grip extremely well on dry surface and great on damp-to-wet surface. Heavy rain, ice, snow not tested. You can feel them gripping when accelerating. Handling is great, not greatest, but great. Of course on a Porsche they just handle that much better. They are surprisingly quiet being a sporty tire, yet they are firm. Firmness of tire + tighter suspension gives a fair amount of recoil back into the vehicle over bumps, which may be jarring to some. Most will not notice this if used to driving performance-oriented vehicles. Keep in mind this is on 19" wheels and on an already fairly stiff suspension. In normal conditions, tires perform excellent. They plant the car down at high speeds, in turns, and brake very well too. Tires are not old enough to rate longevity.
Strongly recommend to anyone with Porsche Macan or other luxury crossovers/SUVs. Great daily tire in warmer climates while not sacrificing a lot of that performance "oomph" if needed.
Overall 9.5/10

I bought them recently. Drove about 1000 km in the winter. Ok tire for now. It is not noisy and holds quite decently. I'll know a lot more next year.
