275/30 20 Tyre Review Highlights

Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 rated 94% while driving a BMW 640 d gran coupe
Driving on mostly motorways for 20000 average miles
These tyres are 275/30/20 runflat and managed 20,000 miles and were on 4.5 - 5mm all round untill a cut on the treadblock made me replace them which is a shame. I think they would have lasted minimum 25k and possibly 30k which is amazing.

These gen 2 runflats were as comfortable as can be and replaced the horrid dunlop sp sport maxx gt which when hit a pothole just bulged.

Dry and wet grip excellent and thrse are brilliant in runflat and at £275 each from Asda tyres not cheap but do the job. The reason i keep runflats is i had a puncture and i drove to work and back 80 miles and then had to replace them as they shreded onnthe inside but kept me going. No tyre sealant and no spare in the car means i keep the runflats and the tyre sealant wouldnt have worked.

Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 rated 87% while driving a BMW
Driving on mostly town for 3000 easy going miles
Rim protection edges are a great feature but the most impressive aspect of the tyre is how soft the ride is especially on 20" run flats. Excellent dry grip and handling yet low wear is a great technical achievement. Iv had pireli p4 and Brighstones previously. The lower road noise is noticeable and appreciated. Maybe there's even better options out there, i dont know any, but these tyres suit the bmw 530e wonderfully.

Altenzo Comforter rated 27% while driving a BMW 530i M sport
Driving on mostly town for 6000 spirited miles
Had these on my BMW 530M sport some years ago when i purchased it they were quite new so i decided to try them not the sort of tyres i would usually use, needless to say please don't buy these they are terrible tyres in the wet you never know when they are going to let go and you get to see the back end rather a lot, gives the traction control light a good work out though. Dry grip is poor to fair, the rears did not ware very well and wore out on the inside edges i have had no problems with other tyres doing this ie pirelli and Michelin. Save your money and invest in better rubber than this.

Michelin Pilot Sport 3 PS3 rated 73% while driving a BMW
Driving on mostly town for 20 average miles
20,000km distance, Rear tyres due for change now. Normal driving, not trashing tyres. Good tyres for comfort and handling , wear was even. One tyre has slow puncture split in tyre. Split is on upper surface towards edge, not the side wall. Would use again but will try Hankook next.

Dunlop SP Sport Maxx GT rated 86% while driving a BMW 640 d gran coupe
Driving on mostly motorways for 15000 average miles
I bought my bmw 640d GC with 34,985 miles on it and thrt had 7mm all round. As of todays review 10.01.23 the car is on 50,800 miles and thr tyres are down to 5mm all round. Now thats 1mm of wear per 7,500 miles which is excellent. They are runflat and the wear rate is amazing. I will probably get 20,000 miles and more out of these and so far thet are excellent.

Vredestein Ultrac Vorti Plus rated 100% while driving a BMW 530D M sport
Driving on a combination of roads for 3000 average miles
Excellent tyres, much better then I was expecting.I had Pirelli Pzero runflat (18 inches) before and I can definitely say that Vredestein handles much better.

Blacklion Champoint BU66 rated 91% while driving a BMW 330D Touring
Driving on mostly country roads for 21000 average miles
I had a full set of these with some replica BMW M2 competition alloys as they were cheap. Can honestly say these have been impressive given the cost. Have done approx 21k miles on these, the Fronts are only about 50% worn, the rears about 70% but given the geometry of the rear the insides are wearing quicker but still doing well given the 320bhp/700nm going through them!

Bridgestone Potenza S001 rated 43% while driving a Audi RS 5
Driving on mostly country roads for 2500 spirited miles
These came on my RS5 when I bought it. Appalling tire, feel slippery and vague at all times, worst wet performance of any tire I've ever driven and a generally rough ride.

Continental SportContact 7 rated 95% while driving a Audi A5 2.0TFSI Quattro
Driving on mostly motorways for 2000 easy going miles
Very happy with this tyre. They have near enough eliminated the usual understeer from my A5 with a very sharp turn in and a progressive feel as the tyres load up through moderately fast corners. I’ve only experienced the wet a couple of times and it again impressed me. It’s too early to say how they will wear but I will review again in the future.

Bridgestone Potenza S007 rated 47% while driving a BMW 530D Xdrive Msport
Driving on mostly motorways for 6000 easy going miles
I purchased these tyres for my 5 series as they are on various websites. However my first set on the rear lasted 6000 miles. Contacted Bridgestones and spoke with their technical team who said these are a very high performance tyre and not designed for a 5 Series. They are really only designed for an 8 and anything other than an 8 will result in premature wear. My previous Michelin Pilot Sports which I feel are superior lasted in excess of 30000 miles. Not happy at all. Will not buy Bridgestones again. No website that sells these has that advice.

Continental Sport Contact 6 rated 66% while driving a BMW 640d
Driving on mostly country roads for 8 easy going miles
The major issue with these tyres is wear. I am not driving very fast, I ve done almost 12.000km and tyres need to be changed.
