265/35 19 Tyre Review Highlights

Uniroyal RainSport 5 rated 95% while driving a Lexus RC300H
Driving on a combination of roads for 5000 average miles
I got these to replace the OE Bridgestones fitted to my Lexus RC300h. I tend to favour comfort over on-the-limit grip because a) I only drive on public roads, not race tracks, b) speed cameras, c) have you seen the size of the potholes? and d) the strange whining noise from the front passenger seat if I start to “press on” too enthusiastically.
From the word go, the rainsports were a night-and-day improvement over the Bridgestones. Dry grip s superb - maybe not track day superb but perfectly good for a tight exit slip road off the motorway taken a little too fast for comfort. Although these are classed as summer tyres I ran them through a very cold November and December with temps below freezing at times and had no issues at all. Similarly, the wet weather performance is quite incredible. The confidence they inspire in the wet is excellent.
My one gripe is that the tyres have no rim protection. Er, that’s it. Everything else is a 10/10 from me. There may be “better” tyres but these do what I need them to do, they’re brilliant in the wet, good enough to use all year round, comfortable and priced very competitively. I’d get them again in a heartbeat.

Accelera PHI rated 63% while driving a Audi
Driving on a combination of roads for 500 average miles
I bought these online as i had a discount code, and my car had brand new acceleras on the front tyres already so bought a matching rear set. I had just bought the car, and it needed some rears, so instead of going for premium which would have been 4 times the price per tyre at this size, i bought these, as i didn't fully trust the car at the time, and didn't want to spend £1k on tyres just yet. I've had good experiences with budgets before, so not afraid to try them. In the dry they are absolutely fine, a little noisy, ride is quite firm on the tyres, but i don't mind that. The tyres state all season on the side, although most reviews treat them as a summer tyre, and the tread pattern looks like a traditional summer tyre to me.
Wet weather performance is where this tyre struggles, wet weather braking being the only noticeable downside, initial bite in the wet upon braking is not very strong, and just takes that little longer than you'd expect. So factor that in.
As i mentioned the ride is firm on these tyres, and the grip not the highest, so that would suggest that the tyres are of a very hard compound which should last a long time.
For the money they're good, and for most applications i would say they're fine. They look and feel like a very robust tyre aimed at longevity rather than peak grip, i think the bad reviews here are by FWD hatchbacks that drive them hard, which is just not what they're for.

Continental SportContact 7 rated 90% while driving a Porsche 987 Boxster S
Driving on mostly country roads for 3000 average miles
Transformed the wet grip on my boxster (235/35R19 Front and 265/35R19), dry grip seems improved as well. The car was previously on Michelins (Sport Cup 2 on the front, Super Sport rears both Porsche N2 rated) which although impressive once warm in the dry where worrying in the wet and could be butt clenchingly terrifying in standing water.
Overall the car seems quieter, more comfortable and better balanced with excellent feedback, I've yet to find the limit of dry or even wet grip on the road and they make the car more enjoyable to drive so I'm using it more.
I'm always wary of standing water in this car due to the relatively wide tyre section and light weight but so far they've performed well without the problems of aquaplaning that the tyre reviews test would make you worry about, although that is in comparison to the performance / track day option Michelin tyres.
Not sure about wear rates, I've yet to notice any significant change in 3000 miles, but the tyres were significantly cheaper than other premium brands at the time.

GT Radial Champiro HPY rated 76% while driving a Audi S6
Driving on a combination of roads for 1600 spirited miles
Got these free when i purchased an S6 5.2V10 2011 back in February 2023.

Since they were "A0/Audi Approved" thought I'd give them a go till replacing them with the usual Dunlop SP Sport Maxx.

After about 1,500km they've bedded in nicely, but seem to wear quicker than equivalent Dunlops, Michelin or Pirellis (same as when i tried them on my B8 Audi S4 Avant 3.0T; those needed changing after just 6,500 spirited km).

Wet handling is inferior to Pilot Sport or SportMaxx, and braking distances are longer (they rumble under breaking, too), but dry handling is exemplary though road noise, vibration is pronounced.

For a cheap tyre they're perfectly serviceable (or for a track day) but you get what you pay for.

Petlas Velox Sport PT741 rated 84% while driving a BMW m2
Driving on a combination of roads for 5500 average miles
Used Michelin Pilot Sports on my 2018 BMW M2 and wife bought these tires as a replacement. At first I was skeptical because of the name and where the tires were made. As usual the wife was always right. The tires performed just like my high priced Michelins. Tires felt so much better than the 27,000 miles Michelin I took off. The tires are slightly noisy than the original but I am impressed with the tires. I would recommend these tires again.

Accelera PHI rated 53% while driving a BMW m2
Driving on a combination of roads for 10000 spirited miles
You can find a lot of reviews online about these tyres, and most of them extremely criticize the performance in various conditions. I switched to Acceleras due to the fact I'll be changing wheels from 19'' stock to 18'' APEX SM-10. As the rear tyres were running low, I decided to spend £70 per tyre instead of £300+ for Michelins when I'll need to replace them in 6 months anyway to accommodate the wheel change. Considering that I still use Cup2's at the front axle, the Acceleras deal with everyday driving ok. The dry grip is about 30-40% lower than Michelin's depending on the surface of the road, it doesn't bother me as I'm used to cars that feel a bit more alive and most people will not notice the difference until you need to pull out from the side road or get on the busy roundabout. Motorway - is a bit sketchy, the car does not feel as solid or planted at speed when changing lanes, and I'm not talking about going supersonic... that from 60mph+. Definitely will not be able to switch lanes aggressively or the back will swing around you. Wet grip - now this is really subjective, as we all do different driving. Personally, I use my car every day and commute from M25 J16 to M1 J10. M25 in the rain is sometimes scary and I'm sooo grateful I kept the Cup2's at the front. The Acceleras like to skid a bit when going over paddles, same in town, the car will struggle to accelerate even in a higher gear. I'll bring one example, I was overtaking on M25, going 60mph, 6th gear, put my foot down to overtake, and the rear goes. That's partially due to the M2's torque but you get the point... Had a chance to use them during my latest road trip to the lake district, snowy/icy road is definitely something you MUST avoid if using these tyres. I was sliding at 3-5 miles per hour with no throttle applied. Managed to get to the top of the Honister Pass, but trust me when I say a little bit of poo came out... The tyre is fairly controllable at the limit and beyond, just be aware - you'll get to the limit much much sooner than you think, you can push it a bit, not as much as you would with a £300+ tyre but this characteristic lets you have some fun at lower speeds, and you'll not feel sorry shredding this budget rubber as they're soo cheap to replace. In terms of wear, they cope quite well, used them for around 5 months (10 000miles of commuting including 2 road trips to Lake District) and the latest MOT shows around 5.2mm. I can't speak for comfort or noise as having good or bad tyres in the car with bucket seats, roll-cage etc doesn't make much of a difference. In a conclusion, It's difficult to say if I would recommend them to anyone, but I'm sure they have some application. Highly depends on what is your car and what is your driving style etc. I can't say anything negative as I knew they will not provide as much grip in various conditions, they just worked for me and saved me money. If you have a slower car, and you drive from A to B I think this tyre would work well for you. Not going to wear as much and the price is great for what it is. Just be aware of the conditions on the road, wet grip, and most likely massively increased braking distance. For anyone else, more powerful cars, or someone who likes to drive their car a bit more aggressively - please don't buy it unless you have a valid reason behind it... if you need to save money, or just would like to slide a bit on the track without spending a lot on tyres, go for it. But everyday use will affect the performance of your car by a significant margin and you will need to be aware of the conditions on the road at all times.

Continental SportContact 7 rated 97% while driving a BMW m2
Driving on mostly country roads for 50 spirited miles
This is a continuation of a review I did a few months back on these tyres, but this time for the rears of my BMW M2. Having found the fronts to be so good compared to the OEM fit Michelin Pilot Super Sports, I knew I would be getting these SportContact 7's for the rears when the time came...and three days ago that time came. I don't need to have had the tyres on any longer than that to know the difference in traction off the line and also the grip they have under acceleration. Where the PSS's would be spinning up and I'd be pulling a higher gear or having to lift off, these things just stick incredibly well. It isn't particularly warm and they just have grip from turning the key, they don't need to be warmed up. Their other trick is on a wet road. They grip in the wet like its dry, and again where the PSS would spin I can almost pin the throttle on a wet road and it just sticks. They do of course break away when you are too aggressive under acceleration on a corner as any tyre will, but the SC7's grip for longer and are perfectly predictable when the rear does go. Overall the best tyre I have ever experienced on a car, and they are a bargain price when comparing them to Michelin's offerings. The confidence they give, and the inherent safety factor in the wet, is something no tyre on the market can match at the moment especially when combined with their dry performance too. 11 out of 10. Fantastic!

Bridgestone Potenza S001 rated 57% while driving a Mercedes Benz C63 AMG
Driving on a combination of roads for 17000 average miles
The tyre is definitely capable round a twisty country road and mountain passes. Even in the rain with a torque-y rwd car, it is manageable. But it sucks so bad when driving in town or commuting daily. The road noise is terrible and the occasional droning is head splitting. Not to mention the rock hard sidewall ruins the ride of the C63s even with suspension on comfort settings. After 17k miles bit the bullet and switched to Conti SC7s; much smoother ride with similar levels of grip

Jinyu YU63 rated 54% while driving a Porsche Cayman s
Driving on a combination of roads for 4000 spirited miles
Bought a used 2009 Cayman S and the dealer must have installed these tires in the rear (265). They are OK on dry surface. This would be all I care, because I don't go out with my sports car in the rain; but it can and does happen seldom that I get caught in it. The first time I was coming off a ramp to get into a 4 lane highway and I was in 3rd gear taking it easy (70 kms/hr); I hit the gas gently and I found myself almost 90 degrees sideways. Managed to recover. I had the car in sport mode and all driving aids off. The second time I was going up a short hill road and this time the car was in normal mode and -remembering the downright scary moment- all driving aids were on and I was driving at about 40 kms/hr. Well, the car still got itself sideway (this time about 45 degrees or so) and I managed to recover again, however I could tell you how many ripples there are in the concrete wall I almost pasted the car into. I would definitely not recommend this tire, unless you are into drifting when wet. And don't care for your life, that of the others and even less so, your car. I'm installing Michelin PS4 in a month.

Continental SportContact 7 rated 97% while driving a BMW m2
Driving on mostly country roads for 500 spirited miles
Purchased the Sport Contact 7's to replace the ageing Michelin Pilot Super Sports on the front of my M2 and made that decision after watching the tyre reviews video showing just how good they are compared to PS4S's and Goodyear Eagle F1 Super Sport's. My rear tyres are still ok so will be changing those at a later date, but they will definitely be the Sport Contact 7's when I do. The first impression from the tyre was that it feels more comfortable and less noisy than the original PSS tyres and after a few days of driving and getting used to the car the difference in feel on the front end is immense. The turn in is immediate and sharp and just feels ultra grippy. Where the PSS used to seem to want to wait to turn after a short delay the SC7's are fast and precise on turn in and just give total confidence mid corner, with what feels like unlimited grip. In the wet they feel just as good and inspire confidence. I will fit the rears after the winter but these tyres are far superior and a huge chunk cheaper than the Michelin PSS. The PS4S was not available in M2 sizes at the time but for the money the Conti SC7's are the best value in my eyes. They are a huge chunk cheaper than the PS4S and although the Conti sidewall is not as nice to look at as the the PS4S, I'm happy that the performance is probably the best out there for daily use. Looking forward to fitting the rears so I can see how they perform. I can imagine improvements in traction, especially in the wet. Overall very happy, and i would recommend these tyres to anyone with a higher performance vehicle.

Triangle SporteX TH201 rated 34% while driving a BMW M3
Driving on a combination of roads for 1500 spirited miles
I bought these tyres based on availability whilst abroad in Spain. At the time I had Conti 6s on which were great but wore way to quickly. The reviews seemed quite good and felt they would be fine to get me home on a 700 mile trip on all sorts of A roads, motorways and a couple of B roads. Initially I was very cautious in how far I could push the tyres and this proved to be a wise decision as they were woeful in the dry, so did not push my luck in the wet. on twisty A and B roads they struggle for grip with only the finest of throttle input the traction control light is flashing away. It feels like they have a soft tyre wall which makes the car feel like its trying to tuck underneath you, could also be down to very soft compound of tread (liken it to winter tyre which have soft tread blocks with lots of small channels) Under slightly heavy braking at roughly 70 mph the car feels like it moving around under you, so feels very unsafe. They got me home but spoiled what should of been a great drive on some of Spain's greatest roads. They will be coming off as soon as possible as they are truly awful in all conditions.

Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 rated 83% while driving a BMW M3
Driving on a combination of roads for 6000 spirited miles
After the run in check (at 2000 km), replaced the OEM Pilot Super Sport with Cup 2 (265/35 R19 and 285/30 R20).

They really stick like s**t to your shoe! But you need first to heat them up AND accordingly adjust the tire pressure! It's the most heat sensitive tire I had until now...you can start at 20°C and 2,3 bar and end up with almost 3 bar at 70°C on the highway. So, before doing another lap, get out, check the pressure and adjust at around 2.1-2.2 bar. Front-back variation, at your own discretion, depending on how do you want your car to behave.

They are so sticky that even cold they SUCK the pebbles in the parking lot and the MPG is worse than with Pilot Super Sport (from 9 to 11-12 l/100 km). Road feed back is amazing, it's like you feel the road with your own palm faces. And the are more comfortable than the Super Sports! I guess the side wall is not that stiff. Who knows. Now the bad part: it absolutely does hate cold and wet conditions. As in, no grip. Try to pull away from a stop at a roundabout, you only get shudders from the back and not much forward momentum. So you need to time your starts accordingly (more time and space to the next incoming car). But with care, you can manage it. During a long trip, I also drove in snowy conditions (unexpected, it was only September) and it went ok. Just take care and no sudden movements.
