Voiture de tourisme Toutes saisons Tourisme Premium Tyres Tyre Review Highlights
Goodyear Vector 4Seasons Gen 3 — rated 77%
while driving a Citroën C5 X hybrid 225 for 3000 miles
This is a further update on the Goodyears. Previously I had complained about the poor fuel consumption with these tyres. After 3,000 miles, there has been some improvement hence this review. However I estimate I am still around 2 mpg down with these tyres.

I have never experienced this before with new tyres, but it has taken over 2,000 miles for these Goodyear Vector 3’s to ‘bed in’. There is definitely less resistance from the tyres now, and the car will freewheel further. Fuel consumption has improved, but it is still not as good as my previous tyres - Kleber Quadraxer 3’s. Apart from that gripe, the tyres are excellent.

I drive a lot in Italy and generally the locals don’t hang around. So you need a car that is agile and tyres that will grip well. Certainly on wet and greasy roads, the Goodyears really hold on. Wet braking is good too. I have not had a chance to try them on snow or ice.

The Goodyears make the car feel more chuckable and it changes direction without hesitation. The ride quality though, maybe because of this, is not so forgiving. It is just a question now of how long they will last, and when their performance might start to drop off.

In the future I will certainly pay more attention to the rolling resistance of tyres, and will choose a tyre with the lowest. It really does seem to make a difference.

Goodyear Vector 4 Seasons Gen 2 — rated 100%
while driving a VW Polo 6R 1.6 TDI Bluemotion for 59000 miles
Formerly I most used Michelin-tires. Being older, more lazy, read about all-weather tires on this website; quality had become better. And indeed this first try was excellent. First used this set on a Peugeot 407 hdi 2.0 en last years on a -508. After 59000 miles, two tires have 2.5 mm left and the other two little bit more than 3 mm; I didn't expect so many miles from all-weather tires. Of course numbers 1-10 are relative and subjective, and my opinion also, but I've always been very satisfied with these tires. In wet conditions, they gave me a great sense of security. I enjoyed the comfort and the lack of noise; better than ever before. It's fair to say that I'm a relaxed diesel driver. Driving isn't a sport for me, but a way to cover distances as safely and comfortably as possible. Cruising speed on the highway is for 90% approximately 70 to 75 mph. It's a pity that Generation 3 doesn't perform better in the comparison tests now.

Goodyear Vector 4Seasons Gen 3 — rated 87%
while driving a Mitsubishi carisma for 12500 miles
I based my buy in this website, basically because my vehicle, a Mitsubishi Carisma of 1997, uses 14 inch wheels, a diameter that's getting deprecated in the release of new gen tires, and I needed more information about the best models I could choose, I had to choose between this model and the Hankook kinergy 4s2 and I chose Goodyear cause they seem to endure more mileage, although hankook may be a better bang for the buck. I haven't had this car enough to test more tires that this one, but overall, my experience has been great, most time I've driven this car is on a dry road and sometimes wet but I live in a pretty dry territory, I have tried to make a more "sporty" use to see what these tires are capable of and it has an amazing grip, I feel like it's incredibly hard to lose control, something I find specially important since my car has no ABS or ESP or TCS to compensate.

In terms or reliability I have to say I had an small leak recently on the rear left tire which lead me to repair it but after a quick and cheap visit to the mechanic it gave me no more problem.

In terms of noise, considering I haven't measured it specifically I would say these are very silent, most of the noise I hear with this car is aerodynamic, the engine or certain parts of the interior due to their age, I tried the car on sound-absorbing asphalt that has been recently installed in my town and that absorbs around 75% of the rolling noise, other cars I've experienced to hear had a massive difference but not with mine, which leads me to think that there is not so much noise to absorb from the tires.

I hope these to be my tires for a loong time, for now it seems like it's the case since the tire wear with this mileage is minimal.

Michelin CrossClimate 2 — rated 84%
while driving a Jaguar XFS Sportbrake for 1000 miles
Last month, I bought Michelin CrossClimate 2 tires in 245/45/R18 (XL) for my Jaguar, and they’ve been a total game changer.

My first impressions after about 1,000 miles are very positive. They’re excellent in cold weather, with strong braking performance and very good communication through the steering, which makes me feel much more confident. We recently had some snow, and they handled it without any issues at all.

In general, they’re comfortable, but if you hit a pothole, you definitely feel it — the impact is transmitted straight to your spine. In all other situations, though, I have no complaints.

Fuel consumption is similar to my summer tires. If there’s any increase at all, it’s most likely due to using the heated seats, not the tires themselves.

It’s too early to judge wear, as they’re still new, but so far I’m extremely happy with them.

Nokian Seasonproof 2 — rated 88%
while driving a Mercedes Benz C200 w205 for 150 miles
Very quiet and comfortable. Grip and braking is good. The steering seems lighter than all previous tyres, but the guy with the Clio is exagerating.

Vredestein Quatrac — rated 83%
while driving a Opel Mokka B for 37000 miles
I have been using Vredestein Quatracs for 4 years now. They have done 60,000 km so far (mostly commuting and school runs, but also several longer trips). The tyres still have plenty od tread (4-5 mm). During this winter they will reach the winter indicators and they will definitely last through the next summer, so it will be more than 4.5 years and approximately 70,000 km.
They are very good, quiet, very grippy in the wet and fine even in the occasional snow. I would definitely recommend them. It is difficult to comment on handling or road feedback, as the car is really not handling-focused and the tyre sidewall is huge. On the other hand the comfort is very nice. The only negligible drawback is that the tread blocks like to tear a little more then ussual and I don't drive in any off-road conditions at all. It does not seem to have any adverse effect on the performance though. In comparison to other cars in the family I have seem similar problem on Pirelli Cinturato SF3. The Bridgestone Turanza 6 AS and Toyo Celsius AS2 seem to be more resistant to this.
Overall I have been very satifsied and I can recommend them.

Continental AllSeasonContact — rated 66%
while driving a Audi A6 Avant 3.0 TDI Quattro for 10000 miles
Have no comparison on this vehicle with other tires yet.
Was driving on snow this year multiple times and felt safe all the time.
Never felt disadvantages on dry and wet roads.
It is a bit wobbly, since it‘s not a performance tire.
Downside is a whine at about 70 to 80 km/h, which appeared from the first day. Also I have the feeling that it should be more silent in general.
The noise is the reason I would not buy it again.
Furthermore small pieces of the profile are getting lose. Maybe this is due to driving it fast in summer on the Autobahn with unlimited speed (top speed of vehicle is 250 km/h).

Bridgestone Turanza All Season 6 — rated 84%
while driving a Tesla Model 3 standard plus for 1000 miles
These are relatively quiet tires with good winter grip in northern Germany. However, I was blown away by how comfortable these tires are. I have Pirelli winter tires on my Model Y and previously had Vredestein Quatrac tires on this car. The Bridgestones are more comfortable than either of those, especially compared to the Vredesteins. I did not expect that. This is especially surprising given the Tyre Reviews reviews considered them sporty but not quite comfortable.

Hankook Kinergy 4S2 — rated 89%
while driving a Toyota GR86 for 6000 miles
I use the car for 1) going places 2) drifting. As far as 1) goes, the tyres are of course adequate, maybe noisier than average at highway speeds.

As for 2): these are the best "winter" tyres for my use case that I've tried. I haven't tired that many, but I can say there are summer tyres with (much) softer sidewall. At-limit/beyond-limit handling is pretty great, in the dry and in the wet. In the wet, there's still reasonable sidebite when sliding (that you don't get with bad cheap tyres) - progressive breakaway and all that good stuff. Can't say much about snow (well I can say that with 2.5 mm tread remaining, snow grip is bad - but that's probably normal).

Tyre wear is not bad, about on par with most summer tyres I've tired, and for example much better than winter Bridgestones I've had once. As far as I can tell, the wear is pretty minimal until too much heat gets involved - even with these in the front, some light track driving in 10 minute stints (light for the front tyres I mean) results in some accelerated wear. But, now talking about rear tyres, stuff like a 30 second drift run is fine. The tyres also handle handbrake drags well, they don't chunk/tear/delaminate easily.

The attached photo is just for curiosity, to admire the inner construction and stuff :). This is absolutely not typical (see previous paragraph), that's from a track day where I had delamination issues even with semislicks - it was a cold day, and that day I learned that very cold tyres should be brought up to temperature more... slowly and carefully.

Michelin CrossClimate 3 — rated 88%
while driving a Honda HRV 2022 for 10789 miles
Purchased for winter use in Northern Italy, a region where winter temperatures range from -5°C to 10°C, sometimes even within a short period of time: this is the reason I decided not to use winter tires this time, but all-seasons coming from summer tires for the rest of the year. I fitted them in mid-October, and on dry road they surprised me incredibly, as they seem to be quieter than the Primacy 5s; the feedback is obviously a bit softer. Even driving in the Alps at -10°C during the Christmas period, I didn't notice any difference in road feedback.

In winter use, they struggled a bit when driving once on the highway in a heavy snowfall, requiring a lot of steering effort to maintain a straight line and counteract skidding, but objectively, it was a matter of driving at 90 km/h in 3-4 cm of snow, and it was me trying to get ot the limit.

Finally, when parking on compact ice and snow at sub-zero temperatures, they didn't give me the same feeling of grip that I used to have with the Kleber Krisalp: the wheel slipped at times, but then again, this is an extreme comparison between an all-season tire and a dedicated winter tire.

Michelin Primacy MXM4 — rated 67%
while driving a Tesla Model 3 Long Range RWD for 20000 miles
On fresh asphalt, it feels almost like I'm on a hovercraft or a magic carpet. When the road is rougher they do a really good job of dulling and dampening the vibrations before the suspension has to do anything about it. Honestly, despite the fact that they are run-flats they can feel downright soft and cushion-y. And they're efficient as well. They take time to ramp up response to steering input, but they feel confident once they do turn. Not at all sporty though. They understeer when pushed, especially in the rain. The nice thing though is that they feel very predictable in most conditions. They inspire confidence because you can feel the limits usually and they just safely understeer when you pass that limit. If you ever encounter snow or slush however driving becomes incredibly stressful incredibly fast. These things are TOUGH though, I have hit some nasty potholes and even scraped the curb once or twice and the tires just keep going. And the tread wear seems really good too. All this said, if you prioritize comfort, efficiency, and reliability these are fantastic at those things as long as you don't want them to also be a winter tire or a performance tire.

Bridgestone Turanza All Season 6 — rated 90%
while driving a Mazda 6 Wagon for 6000 miles
I bought those instead of another set of crossclimate2 for my Mazda6 Kuro. I’m in the south of UK so wet braking and performance is more important than snow capabilities and so far I’m pleasantly surprised. Confidence inspiring in the cold wet, fantastic on dry and warmer days and super grippy.
They lack a bit of feel near the limit of performance, but I found that to be the case with most all season tires and I’m yet to make the car oversteer or understeer even in heavy rain.
Ice/snow performance is okay but nowhere near the CC2. Considering I paid 25% less than michelin or pirelli, I wouldn’t hesitate to get them again.
Great tires and perfect for UK weather year round.
