235/65 R17 Tyre Review Highlights
Writing about the Continental VikingContact 7
rated 86%
Great tire so far. I am now using them for my second season. When purchased, I opted for 17" which is -2 from OE for my 19" tire size - the result is the same size that would be found on the base gasoline-powered trim level of my car (a 2024 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid). Asthetically, the taller profile of the tires makes my car look a bit more aggressive and ready to pounce on the snow.
During my first season, I found the Vikings were as quiet as my OE Michelin Primacy tires. The tires also provided an unexpectedly slightly firmer ride vs. the Primacy tires, but this firmness seems to have softened up a bit in my second season. I'm running the tires at 36 psi. These tires have great grip in the snow - the grip loosens up predictably if you are going too quickly while accelerating in a corner. The car handles very well in the dry and wet.
The only downside I have noticed is that my fuel economy is slightly worsened by maybe 0.3 L/100 km more? Despite that, I highly recommend this tire!

I’m so far they have about 8000 miles on these tires. They have a lot of grip they handle great in the rain or dry weather conditions. I haven’t used them in snow yet so we’ll see how that goes and the rated for 60,000 miles but I doubt the last so long, but we’ll see

I didnt expect to have winter tyre performance with all season ones... They are very good on dry and wet, far above expectations. Sorry to say but no need to have both (winter and summer ) set of tyres for light SUV vehicle. I had them on Land rover freelander 2. I drove them on muddy hills, ski slopes, icy roads and they gripped so well a had to have hard work to make a car sliding on snow. There was no place mud, snow or ice i wouldnt go, simply said... Great tyre with insane winter capabilities for all season tyre and a very good wet grip.
Wear was ok. For 25 000km they got to 5.3mm of tread. Driving was spirited only on mud ice and snow, and it was a joy with a lot of sense of control.

Terrible tyre, way to soft for a crossover and got two pictures at separate times on good roads, the Sidewall of tyre is also paper thin so cornering the car just slops around 40 psi running pressure, wear was atrocious tyres were shagged at 15k and I potter around in a ford territory rarely giving it a push. At time of puncture repair I mentioned my issues with the tyre and they agreed and said they had had numerous problems with them and was wondering why they had gotten such a good reputation.

I'm on my third experience with this tire and my second set of 235/65r17,this time on my Jeep Renegade 2.0 crd.
My first experience with them was on my Jeep Patriot 2.0 crd and I loved them so much when I got them that I immediately bought a set for my Jeep Commander (265/65r17).
Great on dry and wet, fantastic in snow, almost like a winter tire, and perform8ng great in sand as well.
Best A/T tire I ever used and I can't think of efer switching to another brand as they are very good quality for the money

Good tire for dry and wet handling and braking. Terrible braking and handling on ice. Also extreme premature tire wear. The treadwear warranty is for 105000km but they are already worn out to 2mm after 40000km
