Writing about the Bridgestone Potenza Sport

Fitted these to my i30n on a 4 for 3 deal to replace my worn pzero's. What a night and day difference.
Positives, The tyre immediately feels very direct and sporty and it's easy to feel what the front end is doing. Grip in the dry was incredible for a road tyre the just go and go, though they definitely need a little heat to work it's best. More on the feel I found the grip to feel very intuitive and I could tell when that "endless" grip was running out with the tyres breaking away progressively. The star of the show was the wet grip, I don't see any tyre ever wowing me more when I first drove them spiritdly in the wet. They just cut through the water and make it feel like you're in the dry, obviously there's a limit and I have aquaplaned on some deeper standing water but otherwise superb.
On to the negatives, the first this I noticed is definitely the road noise, the i30n is never a quiet car but I can manage to hear them over my exhaust cruising at highway speeds. They're also very firm, South Sydney speed bumps and poorly paved roads have never felt worse, that being said definitely something I could put up with being younger and with all the other positives. Last thing was the wear, on road they held up well for approximately 20,000km with many spirited drives through the twisties and the occasional launch control from a stop light. However one track day at pheasant wood circuit and they were toast, I expected some heavy wear going in but yikes! Front left tyre had some minor delamination and the tread on the front was gone particularly on the outside of the front tyres, the culprit being overheating according to my mechanic.That being said a proper alignment and maybe more careful monitoring of tyre pressures and temperatures they may have lasted better. Because otherwise they did feel great on track!
After said track day, they still felt okay with grip being about the same but of course replacement was in order. Unfortunately no 4 for 3 deals this time around and having being bitten by the track bug I will not be using them for my next with some Conti SC7's replacing them.
All in all definitely a great sporty tyre meant for enthusiasts. Maybe not the best for track days in a heavy fwd car but certainly a good tyre for some spirited driving and a sporty feel. Hopefully when the Potenza Sport Evo's come to Aus in my size I can grab a set and see how they fair as I really liked the feel of these Potenza Sports and without the track wear I'd definitely get them again!

Writing about the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S *

I've come from Bridgestone S001"s which were standard fit. I changed to the pilot sport 4s* in an attempt to keep the tyre performance but soften the ride. The Bridgestones are brutal on our roads, guess they could of been good on track but never got round to it. The ps4s* are perfect, much comfier and a good performer on track.

I've had this tyre on my last two cars, and it has been a champion in the dry, wet and the snow. Got stuck in a snowstorm in the mountains recently and this tyre didn't even blink. I only slid very slightly under aggressive braking once, while not once breaking lateral traction. Highly recommend this tyre for someone who doesn't mind having to replace their tyres every 20-25k miles.

very good grip both wet and dry, 90% of my miles are on twisty welsh roads. wear is pretty bad only got 3000 miles out the rear tyres, the fronts have about another 2000 in them although they are wider at 265

I was holding off from getting some Pirellis despite reading positive reviews, and I have to say I shouldn't have doubted them a single second, these tires are absolutely phenomenal. The feedback is superb and the grip is endless.

What can I say that hasn't been said? I bought these to replace the dry rotted michelin pilot super sport. They're very similar in terms of performance, but to me the super sport felt a little sportier. The ps4s is a little more comfortable than the super sport. Ride is quite plush and quiet for a max performance tyre. It's also very good in the wet. I've never once experienced aquaplaning with them. One area where I think the ps4s is much better than the super sport is durability. I've had them for 7 years (yes, I know), and they still look like new, and I still have tons of tread left. My old super sport was quite worn and dry rotted by the 7th year. With that being said, I don't think the ps4s is a huge improvement over the super sport, which was already amazing. And price has skyrocketed in recent years, at least where I live, so even though I would easily recommend them if money is no object, I think I'll try another tyre in the future.

I have loved these tyres, but they just have not lasted very long. I doubt I'll get to 20k kms, which is a bit disappointing. This includes lots of daily work travel, a good handful of spirited drives in the outer hills (road legal speeds), and 1x hyundai track day at Winton Raceway in Melbourne Australia. Daily use does include various accelerations, but Im not too crazy all the time, but I do enjoy cornering...! Tyres have been regularly rotated and 3x alignments done, so well looked after. Pressures maintained. Track day was not as great as I hoped for these tyres. It was a fairly hot day, the tyres felt pretty soft in the heat with their handling, and just fairly good grip, some tyre roll too. They have felt grippier on the twisty roads than on track. On road they are amazing on a spirited drive, but I need a tyre to last longer for cost reasons mainly. Thinking Goodyear AS 6's next (hard to choose still...?)
Overall, I would buy again if they lasted longer, but I guess thats the price you pay with a tread wear rating of 240. fairly soft. Photo is during the track day, shame the crush rock car park surface makes it hard to see the wear.

Only driving to work on flat covered road including express road. One of new tyres got completely flat so had to get replaced only after driven 4 month (under 300km) of new car. Two front tyres completely worn out below legal limit with 25,000km. Absolutely rubbish in quality, and we feel A4 is lower in grade than other premium cars on the market.

I replaced the factory Micheling PSS with the SC7, after reading numerous reviews full of praise for these tyres, including some feedback from M2 owners that claim the SC7 has the same or better steering response than the MPSS. Well that is rubbish. Turn-in is good, yes, but the response is off - I can only imagine the sidewalls are softer than that of the MPSS. This, being a priority for me, ruined the handling of the car, and I threw them off and replaced with a fresh set of MPSS, not wanting to burn myself again. I would not recommend them to owners of M2 C that prioritise steering response over ultimate grip. If you can live with a slightly vague steering - then otherwise the tyres are great.

Good tire, the grip is good in all conditions (except in winter on snow because I haven’t tested that). I’m quite dissatisfied because the tire that came as the stock first installation on the Audi A4 45 TDI, 3.0 is unusually worn, where the inner edge is abnormally worn out. From the outside it’s not visible how much the tire wore down on the inside until it became unusable. I don’t know if the tire has such characteristics that it’s soft and that’s the reason, or if I drove with too low pressure (to be fair, I didn’t check the pressure very often), but the wear pattern is quite strange. With another set of tires (different manufacturer and different dimensions) I didn’t have such problems. As a tire itself, it’s okay.
