235/50 18 Tyre Review Highlights

Hankook iON Evo rated 54% while driving a Mercedes Benz GLA180
Driving on mostly motorways for 5500 spirited miles
I changed to the Hankook iON Evo after my tyre shop recommended it as a better choice, but I immediately felt a big drop compared to my previous Bridgestone Potenza Sport. The tyres feel slippery when moving off and even skidded on me during a right turn at around 60 km/h, which was quite dangerous.

While comfort and noise levels are decent, the grip and handling are nowhere near what I expected. I only used them for about 5 months, but I’ve already lost confidence and decided to replace them. It seems this tyre is really more suited for EVs, not for petrol cars if you drive a bit more aggressively.

Grip is really good. Handling is terrible, but it is my fault I put it on opel astra GTC

Yokohama ADVAN APEX V601 rated 94% while driving a Toyota Estima Aeras G
Driving on a combination of roads for 8000 spirited miles
I was using Yokohama set of 4 V105 & 4 RV2 on this MPV before. RV2 is silent & comfort type of tyre where V105 is comfort & light performance set of tyre.
MPV users usually prefer comfortable ride but I’m driving a 3.5L V6 MPV I need a set of tyre can have good grip in dry as well as wet.
Surprisingly V601 is much quieter than I thought, side wall firm & excellent road conditions transmitting.

Powertrac CityRacing rated 43% while driving a Holden Vf commodore wagon 2014

A cheap Chinese buget tyre wouldn't buy again

Bridgestone Turanza All Season 6 rated 93% while driving a Opel Insignia B
Driving on a combination of roads for 1000 average miles
I have just put the Turanza All Season 6 on my car. Before them I used Conti SC 5 SUV and Matador MP92. In the dry and wet the Bridgestones feel closer to the summer continentals with the exception of "soft rolling feel" which is rather similar to winter tyres. Otherwise the braking and handling is closer to the summer tyres. The comfort and noise level is very good, better then the Contis. It is too early to comment on wear or fuel consumption and I have not experienced freezing weather yet but based on their behaviour in the dry and wet I think they are great for any family car.

Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 rated 83% while driving a Toyota Previa
Driving on a combination of roads for 10000 average miles
Tyres are on a Toyota Previa. These tyres have seriously good grip. Previously had used Michelin primacy 4STs and these were better in every department except wear. One year later and it is calling out to me to be replaced.
Must say I felt safe driving my MPV in both mundane city driving and some spirited driving in the countryside in the neighbouring country. Drives through rain almost like it's a dry road. Cornering feels nice, handling is good. Responsive to braking, especially when roads are wet. V slightly noisy but hey, it's a UHP tyre, it's bound to have some amount of noise. Make it last longer and I will happily buy it again.

Dynamo HISCEND H MSU01 rated 97% while driving a Ford Kuga
Driving on a combination of roads for 2000 spirited miles
Absolutely great tyres. Had many top brands in the past and this Dynamo stay together with them. Very quiet with good road feedback. They are surprisingly comfortable to it's thick sidewall. Tyre itself is quite heavy, in my size it has 13.6kg. I can't find any weak side of them. Highly recommend.
3 wheels balanced under 40g and 1 wheel has 90g it's still acceptable without issues

Nexen N Fera RU1 rated 86% while driving a Volkswagen Tiguan Sport 2.0 TDI 140hp
Driving on a combination of roads for 40000 spirited miles
I'm really surprised at the great value of these tyres. Super impressed that I got at least 65000kms (40000 miles) (On a VW Tiguan 2.0 TDI 4Motion). Unfortunately I was forced to change two tyres because of damage on a bad road. I would have easily got 75000+ out of it. And considering the way I drive, that's saying something!

Giti Control P10 rated 80% while driving a Acura 3.2 TL
Driving on mostly motorways for 1000 average miles
Fitted it on a BYD atto 3 EV. Definitely an upgrade compared to the stock tyres. Wet handling and braking was good under heavy rain and felt safer overall. Will buy again as it's really value for money.

BFGoodrich Advantage Control rated 61% while driving a Mercedes Benz S320
Driving on mostly motorways for 15000 average miles
A decent tire for the money. I put these on after wearing out a set of Michelin high performance all seasons. Definitely a notable difference in noise and that they're quieter. They seem to be wearing very evenly and long. I would say a very average drive and feedback and comfort levels.

Dunlop Direzza DZ102 rated 80% while driving a Toyota Innova
Driving on a combination of roads for 10000 spirited miles
The tyre performance amazed me! Considering that it's a sports tyre with an entry level price range (It's 1.2 Million IDR ~ 100AUD).

Never this happy with cornering and speeding, correcting direction feels unwaveringly good!
I drove an upgraded Toyota Innova with bigger turbos, rated at 307HP & 750Nm of torque, so it really needs a grippy tyre to compensate the huge torque. Driven at both patchy roads and highways (we call it freeways here in Indonesia), and the tyre performs well at both surface.

However, there are 2 letdowns from this tyre : the first one is it runs quicker than it should be (treadwear 380), and the second one is being slightly under the radar for braking performance.

All in all, I still recommend this tyre for daily use and will buy it again for sure

Better in all-rounded performance as compared to Hankook Ventus Prime4

Rotalla Setula 4 Season RA03 rated 88% while driving a Vauxhall Insignia 1.4T
Driving on a combination of roads for 1000 average miles
Bought 2 Rotalla RA03 for the front to replace some Landsail CLV2 that have worn unevenly on the side of the tread. Im not a fast driver and do a mix of town and motorway driving. The difference was like night and day, noticebaly quieter on the road and confident under braking. A month later and I've just had two more fitted to replace the (Landsail) rears (which still had 4mm of tread) and the noise levels have dropped again, should have changed them sooner...
