175/65 14 Tyre Review Highlights

Kumho Ecowing ES31 rated 87% while driving a Peugeot 206 1.4 75hp
Driving on mostly motorways for 3000 average miles
I bought four of these tyres for my 2003 Peugeot 206. The ADAC spoke positively about this tyre and reviews on this site about this tyre were positive too. Together with the low price of this tyre I thought I couldn't go wrong.

And I wasn't wrong! These tyres are good! Especially in the dry as the tests confirmed. Very responsive steering, and no under or over steer in sharp corners at all. Very impressed!
When it comes to the wet these tyres are great too. Stable and more than enough grip when cornering sharp on wet roads.
Only downside is these tyres slip easily when taking an extreme sharp corner from stand still on wet concrete parking lot floors. I hope you know what I mean.

Confort great too! But sometimes a little bit hard on ledges and ridges but nothing serious.
Noise a little bit too much in my opinion especially on rough tarmac but I need to be careful with this claim as it could also be my car lacking proper sound insulation ofc.
Wear? 2.000 km is too early to say something about it.

Will I buy these tyres again? I think I will!! Even though these tyres are Made in China, they perform very very well. Don't let that be a reason not to buy these guys. Cheers.

Toyo Celsius rated NAN% while driving a Hyundai I10
Driving on mostly country roads for 18000 average miles
These tyres are far better than "standard" tyres when it gets cold.

My wife's car has Cross Climates. I've previously had Nokian Weatherproof and Goodyear Vector 4 Seasons. All were notably better than the Toyo's. Not a world away, but better when the conditions get bad. They're not bad or dangerous or any nonsense that you read, but they're not as good as the ones I mentioned. Even with these, in a hatchback I've passed many 4x4s spinning on the wrong rubber. I bought on price and got what I paid for, good enough but not the best.

I'll leave them on until they wear, but will replace with better ones.

Sailun Atrezzo Eco rated 60% while driving a Peugeot 206 1.1
Driving on a combination of roads for 13000 average miles
I ordered a set of Autogreen tyres, the garage then couldn't supply them on the day do gave me these "more expensive" tyres, what a mistake to have taken them. They are incredibly long lasting and OK in warm and dry. Once below about 10 degrees they have poor levels of stopping ability and dire wet weather abilities, even given they are summer tyres. There is no way that the compound can be the same as when EU testing happened as they are certainly not B standard in the wet, it's a bit like driving on slush. I am a relatively relaxed and sedate driver in a 60hp car so this is not me driving like a fool. Despite having tonnes of rubber left I binned these off today, having aquaplaned in moderate rain in town and loosing traction whenever any moisture is in the about. Cheaper to replace the tyres than the car!

Dunlop Sport All Season rated 74% while driving a Opel Astra F 1.6 101 hp
Driving on mostly country roads for 15000 spirited miles
excellent feeling And handling in the dry. Wet as well very good alongside with braking. Dry braking is a big no with long distance and wheel tendency to lock up (No abs car) even at low speeds.
As the car is in central Italy with very mild climate, the chances to try the tires in the show are very thin but, living in the countryside and having tried them in the mud I can say that the grip is not the best.
In conclusion an excellent all season if you want the summer tire handling in dry and wet but consider a significantly longer stopping distance.

Goodyear Vector 4Seasons Gen 3 rated 88% while driving a Toyota Yaris
Driving on mostly country roads for 1000 average miles
These tyres have been fantastic on my MK1 Toyota Yaris.
I was going to purchase Michelin Cross Climate, but the Goodyears were on a special offer at my tyre depot, £50 each, which I think is amazing value for a high quality branded product.
I’ve been driving around the Derbyshire Dales now for a year or so on these tyres.
They are exceptionally quiet & comfortable. They inspire confidence with their superb grip, which seems better in the Wet. I’ve driven in 30 degree heat and minus 10 degrees too. The tyres grip and steer and remain compliant and safe in every condition I’ve driven through.
These are the first All Season tyres I’ve ever used. I can confidently say, this tyre is the most remarkable thing I’ve used in 40 years of driving. I will always use these tyres from now onwards.
I must add, these are not a Sports Tyre, but for general usage they are Great.

Debica Frigo 2 rated 79% while driving a Ford Fiesta mk7
Driving on a combination of roads for 10000 average miles
Acceptable dry and wet grip under normal driving conditions. It floats on the highway because it has soft sidewalls and high tread. Everything changes in typical winter conditions. Better on snow than premium tires, I'm impressed. It is perfect for snowy winters and mountains, but for someone who mainly drives on highways or for rainy winters, you should look for other tires.

Bridgestone Ecopia EP150 rated 59% while driving a
Driving on mostly town for 7000 spirited miles
Good budget tyre. But noisy, yet still comfort. In terms of handling it's worse than the stock tyre ATLAS. Understeer a bit when taking corners. Wet grip is okay and better than my old stock tyre.

Ovation VI 782 AS rated 78% while driving a Skoda
Driving on mostly motorways for 250 spirited miles
Purchased the car with them already fitted I know budget brand is usually junk but Im actually pretty impressed with them. Yes fuel consumption isn't great but they hold the road perfectly well and never feel unhappy in any circumstances at all.. I've just bought two more to refresh the front and honestly you don't need anything else expect from these. Steering is sharp direct and sits very happy at 70mph doesn't get blown around at all.

BFGoodrich Advantage rated 83% while driving a Kia Motors Picanto
Driving on mostly country roads for 1000 easy going miles
I bought these on the strength of the UK Tyrereviews website piece on 2021 Summer tyres. Even though I do not live in the UK, so far as I was able to tell, the Advantage sold here in Australia is exactly the same as the Advantage sold in the UK that was reviewed, save for one extra ply in the sidewall. I purchased these tyres on the basis of them coming top of the heap in terms of comfort in the aforementioned review. The roads where I live are appalling and getting worse by the day and it might be some time (if ever) before I can buy a large SUV such as a Santa Fe or Sorento that would obviously be far better suited to them rather than my current tiny Kia Picanto. Combine that with me not getting any younger and comfort is the main thing I want in a tyre these days, especially when seemingly all modern vehicles are biased towards firm (albeit well controlled) rides.

Well I certainly have to agree with the Tyrereviews review - these tyres are definitely much more comfortable than any previous tyres I have owned and are surprisingly quiet. It was actually their quietness that took me most by surprise since it is not exactly a feature even the manufacturer appears to excessively harp on about. But maybe they should - they really are very quiet - but not so much in terms of a reading on the dB meter - it is because the noise seems to be "tuned" into a bandwidth that we humans find far less irritable - so much less "midrange" to use a hifi analogy. Further anecdotal evidence the noise is reduced is when listening to my usual radio station at 100 kmh on coarse chip roads, I can now listen three "clicks" lower in volume than before (volume 10 versus 13 previously).

As for handling, I do detect a little bit more understeer but I fully expected this given there is no free lunch if you want to bias a tyre more towards comfort. It is a compromise that I am more than willing to live with, especially given that the handling is very progressive such that I can feel the limit gradually approaching when driving on high speed winding roads. I did find too, that whereas all my previous tyres had caused mild rear end bump steer when the rear tyres were both simultaneously travelling over the same road defect over high speed curves, this particular annoyance is thankfully totally absent with these tyres.

All in all this is a decent tyre if you are not seeking "performance" and instead are seeking something more oriented to sedate driving with a bias towards comfort. On the other hand, if you like to pretend that you are in a kart when around roundabouts or want high precision combined with neutral handling on high speed winding roads, maybe choose something else!
