Passenger Car Summer Premium Touring Tyres Tyre Review Highlights

Kumho Ecsta HS52 rated 80% while driving a Honda Prelude
Driving on mostly country roads for 2000 spirited miles
I've owned this car for over a decade now, so I've had the opportunity to experience it on many sets of tyres. It's not a daily driver and the car is used on weekends for spirited drives in the mountains, some long trips away and occasional track use.
I came across these after the owner of my local tyre shop (who I know well) recommended them to me. I was a little skeptical at first, since I origninally wanted a set of Bridgestone’s, but he said these would do the same job for approx £200 less.
Straight away I was surprised by how different the car felt after the change. The steering felt more responsive, and the car felt more compliant over bumps. The handling is very predictable and compared to previous tyres there's virtually no tyre squeal, even if I really push. I've only driven with them a few times in the rain, but they feel perfectly fine and stable even in heavy downpours. I guess the big question for me is if I regret not buying the Bridgestone’s? And I'm happy to report that I don't. For my type of driving, they do everything I ask, and I've never found myself wishing I had more grip even on some spirited drives.
The negatives: Compared to the previous set of Yokohama’s I had on the car, there's not quite as much feel through the steering wheel. It's not a big problem for me, as my car has adjustable shocks, so a few more clicks of rebound and that feel comes back. But it's worth mentioning for those who are looking for a sportier tyre. The only other negative I would mention is the looks. I feel a bit daft for saying that, as I've never really cared how my tyres look on the car, but after coming from other brands, these look like economy tyres by comparison. But this is hardly a big issue, just a small note. Overall, these tyres are the best I've experienced on the car yet, which is high praise from me, so I would absolutely buy them again.

Michelin Primacy 5 rated 91% while driving a Honda HRV 2022
Driving on a combination of roads for 2200 average miles
I have currently driven 3500 km, mostly on highways and country roads. My car is a full-hybrid Honda, which can go few kilometers in electric-mode; I don't drive "racing mode" but not even "grandpa style"; just enjoying the pleasure of driving. These Primacy are really quiet, you almost can't even hear a rolling noise when driving with open windows on a good asphalt; on poor roads, more noise can be heard. On wet, it mostly feels like you are driving on dry asphalt, considering traction and stability. In the very early kilometers, tires gave a "metallic" hard feeling, which disappeared in few weeks.

Bridgestone Turanza T005 rated 93% while driving a Toyota Yaris
Driving on mostly town for 90000 miles
Excellent tires. At yaris 2012 diesel they lasts almost 90000km. I had never such a good tire. Perfect grip, and very good at wet braking. Nice handling at corners.

Nokian Wetproof 1 rated 94% while driving a Opel Astra H 1.7 CDTI
Driving on a combination of roads for 2000 spirited miles
Bought them for 71$ per tire. The tire is very safe on dry road. The first thing I noticed compared to the old set is much much better road feel and control. The tire is very predictive, and safe for driving. Wet grip is also excelent, although I didn't have a chance to test the high speed grip on a wet road. For standard road tire, this is more than enough.

Hankook Ventus Prime 4 rated 81% while driving a Toyota Vios
Driving on a combination of roads for 8000 average miles
Great set of tyres, got them for 100 per piece less than same sized continentals and they are exemplary in both dry and wet. They feel just at the right balance between comfort and sporty handling. Road noise is very low as well. Would definitely get them again or when prime5 is around . Great job hankook

Falken Sincera SN110 Ecorun rated 79% while driving a Hyundai i20
Driving on mostly country roads for 16000 average miles
These were fitted all round on our Hyundai i20. Not a ball of fire by any means. Completed around 16k miles, fronts are down to min wear now, still give good grip and minimal noise. Rears are on around 4.5mm. driven on rough roads in the Welsh valleys with narrow streets requiring you to drive in gullys and close to the kerb. Motorway miles are quiet, a good tyre which inspired confidence in a small car. Being replaced by an all season soon to suit our weather better.

Vredestein Ultrac plus rated 86% while driving a Honda CRV
Driving on a combination of roads for 500 spirited miles
Changed from Pirelli All Season Plus to Ultrac+ this year, had no issues going at my car's Vmax in heavy rain on a highway.
They are much quieter than All Season Pirellis, the noise is mainly a low hum, which is nicer to the ear than the alternatives.
I feel more comfortable when cornering at speed with them. Been driving some forest/field roads and they held up nicely. The tread doesn't seem as deep as other brands, will update how things are looking after 10k km.

Yokohama BluEarth GT AE51 rated 79% while driving a Honda Odyssey
Driving on mostly town for 20000 average miles
Good choice for light passenger vehicles. Grip performance is above average in both dry and wet conditions. If your tyres side profile are 50+, highly recommended to pump up to 35 - 37 PSI, while the manufacturer says 32 - 36 PSI. It provides a very clear and solid traction on both highway and city corners. If it is a front wheel drive, you might need to check the wear around 30000 km, especially the edge toes. However the back wheels are still with 80%+ tread. Hence it is perfect for those light 4 wheel drive although I have not tried on them. These GT tyres are designed for summer touring so they are pretty quiet and comfort, compare to other mid-high range brands. They are good quality in general and drived with confidence.

Michelin Primacy 5 rated 93% while driving a Subaru Outback 3.0L
Driving on mostly town for 0 average miles
Recently changed from primacy 3 to 5s. I was always satisfied with the 3s but the 5s really are a step up. The ride feel and roll resistance are excellent. My fuel consumption has definitely improved. I can't comment on it's wet weather performance yet (it's currently a bit dry in Australia) but it feels sure footed in the dry. It definitely feels like a premium tyre

Hankook Kinergy Eco 2 rated 71% while driving a Peugeot 108
Driving on mostly town for 20000 average miles
End of life review of this tyre. It's been performing well for the first 3 years of use, with good traction overall. It is wearing very evenly and after around 30.000km it is down to 5,5mm and that's impresive. Granted it;s a small and light city vehicle that doesn't wear the tires fast, but they lasted better than the previous continental eco contact 5.

In it's 4th summer now and the first signs of dry rot appeared, followed by loss in grip. The tire spins easy, abs engages often and it doesn't seem safe anymore. It is expected here (Greece) that after 4-5 years you will have to change tyres due to hot weather and the intense sunlight, but these tyres seem like they fall of a cliff after the 3rd year. Will probably buy again depending on availability and price.

Goodyear Assurance ComfortDrive rated 84% while driving a Nissan X Trail 2.5 petrol
Driving on a combination of roads for 60000 average miles
The original tire it came with was a Yokohama Geolandar, a very good tire that lasted 80,000 kilometers. I put these Goodyear Assurance ComfortDrive tires on it and I haven't had any problems. I've already put 12,000 kilometers on them, driving in all conditions, and they've performed really well. I would put them on again.
