205/50 R17 Tyre Review Highlights
Writing about the Michelin Alpin 5 rated 69%
while driving a Suzuki Swift Sport 1.4 ZC33S
A very good winter tire, very durable, incredible bite in the snow.
A car wearing these can traverse some serious snow inclines.

Writing about the BFGoodrich Advantage Control rated 76%
while driving a BMW 330i
Great daily-driver kind of tire. Fitted to an E46 330i on stock Style 73's, really makes me wish I had wider wheels. Dry grip is good, not great. This is not a pure-performance tire, definitely more on the side of a highway cruiser that can do anything relatively safely. Ran into one or two small issues in snow and ice grip, but excusable since it's an all-season meant for passenger cars.

Tyres came standard on 2025 VW Virtus GT. Apollo tyres are appalling in the wet. Dry grip is adequate, moderate road noise and excellent wear. Had an Aquaplaning incident and vowed to never use apollo tyres again. Swapping out to Michelin PS5 in 225/45r17

Initial Impression this tyre I got simply because it is cheapest in the option that time compared to Bridgestone Turanza T005 and Continental UC7. While from the design it is looks good in the tread. For Dry Handling As I don't drive aggressively it is good and grip enough but for wet handling in the straight so far no excessive hydroplaning but a little understeer when cornering above 70 km/h. As this tyre segment is second grade performance tyre so it kinda Sporty-comfort Tyre (sporty look but still comfort), But for comfort I feel it is quite bumpy that making steering wheel is shaking especially in uneven roads and not that quiet compared my previous Goodyear Assurance Triplemax. Overall will choose this tyre if it is for show only or using aftermarket wheel as it is look good and sporty but so cheap, but for daily driving using OEM wheel I will consider another choices

The oem tires came with the byd dolphin.
Mediocre at best on dry, and very poor in wet.

Bought two of these. Couple years old, but only low mileage. Already replacing due to worrying deep cracking/splitting on both tyres in multiple directions.

Driving on a combination of roads for 1000 spirited miles
Deadly dangerous, came on a Mondeo TDCi that I bought. Like almost ZERO grip in the wet, poor grip in dry too with wheel spin fron pull away at junctions

One tire (back left) lost two chunks of rubber on inside and failed NCT because of this, another (front right) delaminated as I drove along

The most DANGEROUS tire I have ever encountered, just ordered four GT Radial Champiros which I've been running since a hesitant experience with them on a Golf GTi that showed me how good they were

BURN the maxtreks for your own safety

For this rather odd yet frequent tyre size there is not much choice from major producers (mostly obsolete patterns from the past or new over-EV-eco-optimalized rubbish) so I have chosen these and so far I think I have chosen well. No complaints about grip, safety, fuel consumption, tread life or noise.

They can be heard but not intrusively. They are rather soft and comfy but still safe and stable and grip really well. Wear insignificant.

I liked the tyres however steering feedback was vague and in combination with my car the vehicle felt too much understeered.
Grip was good, however when the tyres wears around 3mm, then wet grip gets unpredictable (scary loosing grip). When going over highway overpasses or other road indulations at 100 km/h you feel the front moving sideways (aquaplaning). During wet corners I don't have this problem.
Vehicle is a 2010 116i m-sport with KW V2 comfort suspension.

The only point of comparison I have are the ten year old Dunlop Sport that came with the car. I'm pretty happy with the performance so far, they give me a lot of confidence from dry to wet. The car doesn't feel lazy at all, they're pretty quiet and relatively comfy.

Just finished a Prague -> Berlin trip under awful weather and the car felt planted at all times with no sign of instability. Keep in mind I don't drive very fast nor "spirited" so mostly highway within regulations.

I can't provide any wear details because it's too early. I also switch between summer/winter sets, so they're likely to last me a long time. Most likely, they'll expire before I actually wear them down.

For normal driving on dry roads, it is ok. Rolling recistans is little high, but not to bad.
In Rain it is bad. Very bad.

while driving a Renault Megane IV estate
Driving on mostly motorways for 2000 average miles
Bought these tyres as a replacement for the factory fitted Continental Eco Contact 6, which were awfull in almost every way. I have to say the Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance 2 really improved the car, and as opposed to the Contis, they really feel like premium tyres. Dry handling is much more precise, better feedback, not so much understeer and faster steering response, and in the wet the difference is enormous, the car feels extremely safe. Braking in both dry and wet is a big improvement, they make you feel safe all the time, aquaplaning resistance much better. Comfort was ok with the Contis, but with the Goodyear, the ride became smoother and a bit quieter. Rolling resistance seems to be ok too, the fuel consumption seems to be the same as with the Conti Eco tyres.

They are everything I expected from this kind of touring tyres. Not exactly sporty, but really confortable and safe excellent for a family estate that we use for long journeys. I definitely reccomend them, well balanced tyres that don't seem to have any real weaknesses.

The only small fault I can find is the lack of rim protection in this size, maybe they come with rim protection on other sizes.

I hope wear is as good as the reviews say, I was dissapointed by the Contis, as the fronts were done after two seasons.
