235/45 17 Tyre Review Highlights

Linglong Sport Master rated 41% while driving a BMW 325i
Driving on mostly country roads for 100 easy going miles
Absolute junk! Traded down from Pirelli because of the 'good' reviews but it seems like these reviews were fake.
They are just as uncomfortable as the previous Pirellis which were run-flats. And just as noisy.
But worst of all, they cannot be properly balanced! Had the shop try a number of times, the machine says they're balanced but above 80km/h they shaking of the steering wheel starts. This is a good tyre shop which I've used before.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

Continental ContiMaxContact MC6 rated 73% while driving a Honda Accord Euro
Driving on mostly country roads for 30 spirited miles
Nice and pointy in the dry and wet, though wet grip tailed off sharply near end of life. Would hold line and if needed, had excellent and immediate response to mid corner adjustment. Braking excellent though there was always a slight pause initially till the tyre warmed that wasn't there with 003's.
Millage disappointing, as only got round 30k and had expected them to outclast 003's. (28k)
Overal a very enjoyable tyre and would definitely buy again

Three A P606 rated 20% while driving a BMW 525
Driving on mostly town for 10 average miles
I have a set on a 525 e60 bmw and a falcon au11 xr8 ute. Whilst l cannot fault them for grip, noise or wear the both sets had a tyre fail at 50% worn with a bubble/ separation in the side wall and this alone would stop me buying them again. 1 set l could deal with but both sets is a manufacturing problem.

Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 rated 10% while driving a Honda Civic
Driving on mostly town for 600 average miles
The road noise on rough asphalt(most roads) is unbearable. Already started showing slight stepping on the edges at ~600km.

Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 rated 83% while driving a Alfa Romeo 1.9 JTD M
Driving on mostly country roads for 3000 spirited miles
Buy this tyres in 2024 for my custom build Alfa Romeo 159. The car is FWD, Automatic and have done few engine, gearbox and suspension modifications. What can I say...this is the best tyre for hot and dry summer roads that I try till now. The grip in hot, dry road is astonishing, on wet summer days is good too. Noise is acceptable, wear is high, maybe too high, but performance always come with a price.
The only one real problem for me is the grip in temperatures under 10 Celsius. This can be feel in Spring or Autumn when temperatures varies(night and day)from 5 to 25 Celsius. Even in dry road, when temperatures are under 10 Celsius tyres loses some grip.

Nexen N Fera SU1 rated 89% while driving a Mitsubishi Lancer EX 2.0 GT
Driving on mostly motorways for 100 average miles
First things first, this tire is great, much better than the tires I had before. The dry grip is all there, it never feels unpredictable or slippery no matter how much I push it. The wet grip is lightly tested but it hasn't disappointed yet for the limits I pushed thus far. Dry braking is excellent. The feedback and handling is good. Even through electric power steering, the road feel gets translated quite well. No complaints.

Dunlop SP Sport FM800 rated 79% while driving a Volkswagen Golf R20 270 bhp 4wd
Driving on a combination of roads for 2000 spirited miles
Fitted to a 2012 Golf R, these have great grip for a touring tyre (even compared to the Advan Fleva V701 I had before on a previous set of wheels), and are really reassuring in the wet, even when pushing it. Lateral grip is great but I can get a hint of wheelspin pushing the tyres to their limits in the wet. Cannot comment on wear yet. Also very quiet. Sidewall isn't the most stiff so steering feel is more vague, however potentially due to tire size (235/45/17) rather than the fault of the design.

Bridgestone Potenza Sport rated 70% while driving a Audi S3
Driving on mostly country roads for 1500 average miles
Grip is out of this world in the dry and wet and they're so sharp on the steering, however the wear is really bad. 1500 miles and a track day and both fronts were done. Don't use them on track.

Pirelli Cinturato All Season SF3 rated 81% while driving a Honda Civic 1.5T
Driving on mostly country roads for 1500 spirited miles
Pretty impressed with these, but they do have some limitations. I replaced some Bridgestone full winter tyres with these and they don't have the snow grip of that full winter, which probably stands to reason, but it's not a huge distance off it. What they do well is limit the float that some winter tyres come with when the car moves around on the tread block, it's still there, but tolerable. Some winter tyres really are unnerving for that and I'm sure going to an all season has mitigated an amount of this.
As I'm using these effectively like a set of winter tyres, I'm not wholly bothered by dry grip in the higher temps, these aren't a patch on my Goodyear ays 6's, but they're ok for the dryer winter days that they will encounter. Comfort wise, they are pretty good. Road noise on the civic isn't that well suppressed and these tyres are definitely quiet compared to any thing else I've had on, and I've had a fair amount of brands on this car. One thing they do though is best described as sing to you when you really start to lean on them, not annoying, but noticeable.
I can't comment on wear as yet due to the lack of mileage. Overall, as a replacement for a premium winter tyres, I'm very happy. They get you going in the snow, stop you pretty well and they do inspire some confidence when you want to press on.

Triangle EffeXSport rated 87% while driving a Audi 3,0 tdi quattro sport
Driving on mostly country roads for 5000 average miles
Had these on before on a previous car for 2 years, had a full set fitted in August on my A4, I hit a boulder on the road at 60mph and surprisingly it was still in tact, some damage but still held up, definitely durable and got me home at the end. Over inflation did have a major wear effect on it previously on my Quattro though so maybe that’s only thing I can complain about

Goodyear Vector 4Seasons rated 57% while driving a Volkswagen Passat CC
Driving on mostly town for 10000 easy going miles
initially i was very pleased, normal road noise, and quite acceptable all round behavior. Fitted on a FWD Passat CC with 250bhp, driven in the quite hot Mediterranean environment (last few years are with quite hot summer and quite moderate winters). In highway you instantly felt that they are not like summer tires, but still they have been quite ok. Road noise at quite acceptable levels (not a lot worse to my previous summer Dunlops). Dry handling and braking acceptable but not at par the summer tires, and also the same for wet conditions, but all these were expected. In general, the impressions were on the quite positive side, until these couple of months... Tires fitted exactly 3 years ago and i now experience big chunks of the rubber coming off the front tires! The tread depth is not bad at all with minimal wear on the 10000 miles i have been driving them, but it is crazy that i see big pieces of rubber coming off!!! Waiting for a new Pirelli Cinturato SF3 set to arrive next week to change them, and see how this goes.

Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 rated 87% while driving a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII MR
Driving on mostly country roads for 2000 spirited miles
I have an Evo 8 MR, I have always had Bridgestone RE003's as I know these tyres worked well enough on the car and it was a safe call for me, since changing out tyres isn't a cheap exercise. However I was looking to change to PS5's for this car, but these Asym 6's came up on sale for around $600 for all 4, I just couldn't say no. These tyres have greatly improved my car especially over the RE003, safe to say I will never be purchasing RE003's again. The dry grip on these is amazing and at cornering speeds where the RE003's would screech, these tyres are silent.
The wet grip on these are day and night, although I was in an AWD car I had to tread lightly in the wet as RE's would slip very very easy. I can now almost drive like it's dry in wet conditions.
